We are good at developing small products.
Some of them are all known to the world.
They are for example Digital Cameras(Nikon,Canon),Walkman(a bit outdated?),Nintendo DS,small batteries, electric parts..
Last week, I saw this product on TV program.
They said it is poplular among us..
This is a small tomb stone which is set in our house.
We don't need to go to grave praying for our lost family..
I reflected for a moment.
Is this a good product,a bit excessive?
The company says that this product is for the people
- who has difficulty in visiting grave far away from home
- who'd like to visit grave everyday
- who don't have anyone to maintain family tomb stone
- who don't settle in one place

I think this is a bit over the top.
But in the Netherlands it is even worse as we see more and more sites where you can create a 'virtual grave' where you can, for example, add photos...
For an example do the following:
1. Go to http://www.deeprespect.com
2. Click on 'Bezoek een In Memoriam'
3. Add 'theo' in the 'Zoek op naam' box'
4. Choose land 'Nederland'
5. Click 'zoeken'
I have heard that many Japanese families keep a family shrine- so for some families this seems to be a good alternative.
I think it could easily be overdone, perhaps with gold plating or jewels. But if the family is happy with a small shrine in the house, that's what is important.
In the USA, most people are buried in large cemetaries, sometimes with much ado, sometimes quietly.
This is the first time I've heard of this. It's a very modern concept. Perhaps it might take time before people in other countries can accept this idea.
