Hooray!

Now you will have to tell me more about the sport. I saw a little during the Olympics, but didn't understand it.
Would you say the play/strategy is more like hockey or football?

Dear Jane
I don't know much about american sports. In Macedonia we don't have hockey, baseball or football. Four years ago I was in Boston USA. I was watching a baseball game in the park. Oner player get injured and girl from one of the teams made me play. I didn't know what are the rules, I did't know anything. I was disaster :-) I think handball is more like hockey. Each team have 6 players and a goalkeeper. The duration is two periods of 30 minutes each. The team scores by puting the ball into the goal of the oponent (just like hockey). This sport is fast and interesting. You can see something more about handball here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Team_handball Best regards Aleks

Thanks Aleks.

I was referring to world football (what we call soccer)which I would expect you to be familiar with. Am I incorrect?
I know handball is nothing like American football.

The article is very good, I think hockey is a good analogy. Also, our basketball seems to follow the basic ideas with a couple of changes (dribbling and the basket).

I also see the USA is trying to compete in this sport. I think we are rather outclassed, at least at this time.

I hope you did enjoy your try at baseball. Your participation allowed the game to continue, even if you were not a star player.
