Angola Prison Rodeo

Would you take your children to a prison for a day’s enjoyment? Twice a year (in April and October), you can do just that at the Angola prison in Louisiana. The inmates stage a rodeo and craft fair that is open to the public and many families attend. The events include bareback-riding, wild-horse race, buddy pick-up, and wild cow milking. The proceeds from the gate, concessions, and craft sales benefit the inmates' recreational and educational programs.

Some pictures of the activities can be seen here and here.
