Grate the ginger and finely chop some garlic, drop them in water and bring to a boil. The water will begin to look greenish-yellowish after a while. But if youad it alrady, you would take medicine such as Gribex, Tylohot.  These are the flavour of orange juice and Lemon. I agree that American medicines are too strong- I have trouble taking them even though I am not small. I usually take the child's dose or version.
